Rudiger suffered a rectus femoris muscle problem in his left leg earlier this season. Real Madrid confirmed he could be out for as long as three months.
Speaking to RTL/ntv and Sport.de, the 32-year-old said: "I've finally reached the final stage of my rehab," adding that the period away from action had helped him mentally. "These months have been good for me. I needed this time to mentally switch off and relax."
He expressed optimism about his return, saying: "I don't want to say too much, but you'll see me again soon."
This latest setback comes after a difficult stretch for Rudiger. He played for months while in pain before undergoing surgery in April for a partial tear in the external meniscus of his left knee.
Real Madrid's defence has felt his absence deeply. With key centre-backs sidelined, the club have leaned heavily on Eder Militao, Dean Huijsen, and younger options.
If Rudiger makes a full return soon, it would be a major boost for both Real Madrid and the German national side, reinforcing their defensive options just when they need him most.
