Amakhosi currently occupy third spot on the league table after 11 matches, only three behind log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns who have played an extra fixture.

Patrick Mayo has weighed in with his opinion on the clubs' current campaign and wants the team to finish 2025 in strong position ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations next month.

“It is also very important to go [into the AFCON break] on a high,” said the father of current Chiefs striker Khanyisa Mayo to FARPost.

"Because that break is going to be too much as it is from December to January. They should end this year on a high note."

The Glamour Boys are set to compete in the CAF Confederation Cup group stages and will also be looking to defend their Nedbank Cup title this season whilst attempting to win their first league title since the 2014/15 season.

"Yes, Chiefs have good PSL title chances because Sundowns have not been dominating this season. They won't be dominating, everybody can see that," continued the 52-year-old legend.

"They are under pressure, and they have already played more league games than other teams this season, but they don't have that healthy lead."

Kaizer Chiefs will be back in action next Saturday when they face Egyptian side Al Masry on Sunday, 23 November at the Suez Stadium.
