Andre Arendse joins Sekhukhune United as assistant coach - reports

The 58-year-old former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper held a number of roles at SuperSport United, including goalkeeper coach, assistant coach, and interim head coach.

He was retained at the club as they underwent a rebranding to become Siwelele FC, but was let go along with CEO Stand Matthews after a poor start to the season, and reports of death threats,

Arendse is believed to have already linked up with Babina Noko and joins a technical team consisting of Marc van Heerden and Paulos Masehe.

According to FARPost: "The club has reportedly signed Arendse to bolster the bench. Crucially, his vast knowledge is expected to significantly benefit Sekhukhune's current goalkeeper coach, Nascent Nkhwashu, offering him an opportunity to learn and further develop under the veteran mentor."

Sekhukhune enjoyed a strong start to the Premiership season before a slight drop off in recent weeks, and currently sit in fourth place on the standings with 21 points from 11 matches.
